Ordering repeat prescriptions
We request that you order your repeat medications when you have 10 days remaining.
This helps make sure that there is enough time to deal with your request before your medications run out.
The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:
- using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
- fill out a repeat prescriptions request form online
- use your Systmonline account (on the Systmonline website)
These accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.
You can also:
- bring the paper form to the surgery, when we are open.
- email the practice on: lhmp.prescription@nhs.net
If you are unable to order a medication online, this does not mean we have stopped your medication. Please email the team or put a comment in the notes box on the app and we will process your order as normal.
Collecting your prescription
The surgery will process your request within 48hrs working hours, this does not mean that your medications will be available within 48hrs working hours, your pharmacy may need more time to process the order. Please contact your nominated pharmacy to discuss when your prescription will be available for you to collect.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- at your GP practice
- at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:
- Call our team on 01664 503000 and select option 3 to be put through to the Pharmacy team
- email the practice on: lhmp.prescription@nhs.net
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review. We are working to align medication reviews to your month of birth.

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They may also be able to offer treatment and prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP. This service is known as Pharmacy First.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.
Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
